About Linda Williams
I had a tough time choosing my major in college--art or French--French or art? I chose French reasoning that I'd only perfect my French in college and of course, I would always do art. Little did I know that 40 years, two kids, and thousands of students later I would only now be getting back to my art!
Recently retired from a full career as a teacher and trainer of teachers, I am excited at the prospect of being able to spend more time doing what I love best--using my creativity to show others how I see the world around me.
I have done all kinds of drawing, watercolor and oil painting including portraits, block and intaglio printing. I started dabbling in photography a few years back, too, mostly as a way of gathering subjects to draw or paint. I recently added jewelry making to the mix and have been displaying and selling my beaded jewelry online and in local shows for the past several years. You can see my jewelry at www.etsy.com/shop/joyaslindas3.
At present, I am concentrating on drawing and watercolors. My favorite subjects are drawn from nature--landscapes, flowers, birds, and animals. My style is simple, strong and direct, and I hope you see something here that resonates with you as it did with me.
One practical note: Paintings and drawings are not going to come out well printed on photographic paper. They will look so much better on canvas or watercolor paper, it's worth the extra cost. Save the photographic paper for photos!
